Many University of Michigan students manage mental health conditions that need ongoing care. Campus Mind Works is here to help you with mental health and academic support resources that will help you thrive at U-M. You’ll also find tips for staying healthy and handling college life.

Our mission

  • Provide resources and information to help U-M students succeed in college while managing a mental illness.

Our history

Campus Mind Works is the result of the vision of Waltraud (Wally) Prechter, a tremendous supporter of the University of Michigan and the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program. Following her lead, the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg and Family Depression Center submitted a proposal for this program to the U.S. Department of Education with support from former U.S. Congressman Joseph Knollenberg.

The Campus Mind Works program and website were developed by the Depression Center and the Division of Student Affairs, in collaboration with schools and colleges across the U-M campus.
