Find Mental Health Treatment
If you are in need of mental health care, there are options. You can find various mental health treatment options on the University of Michigan campus and throughout the Ann Arbor community.
Treatment options on and off campus
Currently enrolled U-M students can receive free treatment services from University Health & Counseling. These include:
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides free mental health treatment services. This includes individual therapy, clinical groups, workshops, and psychiatric services.
- UHC Medical Services offers free mental health screenings. They also provide referrals, follow-ups, and medication management for students with confirmed diagnoses. A psychiatrist is also available for consultation upon referral.
Mental health care at Michigan Medicine:
- Inpatient care at the Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Program at U-M Hospital.
- Outpatient care with the U-M Department of Psychiatry.
Student fees do not cover these Michigan Medicine services.
If you wish to seek care outside of Michigan Medicine, there are many other clinicians in the area. Review these tips for finding a provider, whether you have insurance or not.
